Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine (Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine) was established in October 1954is one of the first provincial traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in the country. The first president, Ye Juquan, was a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Five major specialties have been selected for the national regional (traditional Chinese medicine) diagnosistreatment center construction project,four centers have been approved as Jiangsu Provinces clinical medicine innovation centers in traditional Chinese medicine.
