"Warm Spring in the Apricot Grove: Gathering Global Expat Leaders to Promote International Development of TCM" Event Held in Nanjing
To leverage the unique advantages of Jiangsus rich TCM resourcespromote the overseas dissemination of TCM culture, the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, in collaboration with Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine held the "Warm Spring in the Apricot Grove: Gathering Global Expat Leaders to Promote International Development of TCM" event in Nanjing on May 23, 2024. Approximately 40 participants attended the event, including Ai Hui, Vice Chair of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation; Wu Wenzhong, President of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital; Chen Renshou, Director of the TCM Literature Research Institute at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine; Sun Wei, Chief Scientist at Jiangsu Provincial Hospitala renowned TCM expert; Zhou Huifang, Vice President of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federations International Cultural Exchange Promotion Association;overseas expat leaders participating in the 2024 Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Association Gathering. The event was hosted by He Zhongjian, Vice President of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital.During the meeting, Ai Hui delivered an important speech, while Wu Wenzhong welcomed the guestsprovided an overview of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital. Chang Cheng, Director of the TCM Huiqiao Base, discussed the hospitals recent efforts to support overseas Chinese communities. Professors Chen Renshou, Sun Wei,Zhou Huifang shared insights on topics such as "The HistoryCultural Heritage of Jiangsu TCM," "Sino-French TCM ExchangePromotion,""Sharing TCM Culture Both DomesticallyInternationally." Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation Organizes "Famous TCM Doctors Talk Health" Lecture for Pakistani Expatriates
On December 12, 2023, the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, in collaboration with Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicinethe Pakistan Overseas Chinese Association, held a special "Famous TCM Doctors Talk Health" lecture in Nanjing for Pakistani expatriates. Attending the lecture were Ai Hui, Vice Chair of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation; Wu Wenzhong, President of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital;Chang Cheng, Director of the TCM Huiqiao Base. Approximately 100 Pakistani expatriates participated online, including the President of the Pakistan Overseas Chinese Association, La Jielian. The four experts analyzed the climatic characteristics of Pakistanthe causes of allergic diseases from different perspectives, proposing various TCM-based treatment plans for common allergic conditions. 2023 "Family Bonds with China, Charm of Jiangsu" TCM Culture Overseas Promotion Seminar Successfully Concludes
On October 21, 2023, the closing ceremony for the 2023 "Family Bonds with China, Charm of Jiangsu" TCM Culture Overseas Promotion Seminar was held in Zhenjiang. This event was co-hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federationthe Jiangsu Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the organizer.Approximately 40 participants attended the ceremony, including Ai Hui, Vice Chair of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation; Wu Wenzhong, President of Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine; Wang Yongxin, President of the Zhenjiang Overseas Chinese Federation;representatives of overseas TCM practitionersexpatriates from 15 countries. The ceremony was hosted by Lü Jing, Director of the Cultural Exchange Department of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation.Representatives Liu Jinhong, Vice President of the Canadian TCM Acupuncture Alliance,Li Jieru, Head of the Li Doctor Clinic in the UK, shared their reflections on the learning experience. Additionally, they participated in the 2023 Chinese Cuisine Health Seminarhad discussions with seminar participants, including President Wu Wenzhong.Participants expressed that through this learning experience, they gained valuable TCM knowledgeformed genuine friendships, instilling confidence in the development of TCM abroad. Unity Among Overseas Chinese: Online WeChat Lectures Receive Rave Reviews from Expats — Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation Forms Seven Overseas "TCM Anti-Epidemic Care Groups"
At the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly spread globally, raising concerns for the healthsafety of overseas Chinese. In March 2020, to express the care of the people of Jiangsu for overseas compatriots, the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, in collaboration with the Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Exchange Base for Overseas Chinese — Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, established a care platform for overseas Chinese. They quickly formed seven "Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation TCM Anti-Epidemic Care Groups" in countriesregions with significant populations of Jiangsu-born overseas Chinese, assigning federation staffduty doctors to answer questionsprovide effective professional medical consultation services.The "TCM Anti-Epidemic Care Groups" serve the large community of overseas Chinese from Jiangsu, offering the following services: daily collection of personalized needs, compiling themdocuments for analysisresponse by Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; arranging online expert lecturesconverting the audiodocuments for sharing within the groups to broaden the audience; regularly publishing videosinformation related to epidemic preventioncoordinating the procurement of anti-epidemic medicines.In the first moments of forming the WeChat groups, overseas Chinese community leaders from the U.S., Canada, Australia,Europe responded positively. The Director of the Pharmacy Department at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital, Shu Yachun, assigned a team of 14 pharmacists to provide consultation services in the groups, while the director of the Huijiao Base, Chang Cheng, carefully devised a plan for expert lectures. To date, renowned experts from Jiangsu Provincial Hospital, including Shang Hongtao, Chang Cheng, Zhou Jiang, Lu Zijie, Xu Jing, Chen Liehong, Sun Zikai,Liu Lanying, have conducted 14 online lectures via WeChat. More than 4,000 attendees from local Chinese consulatesrelevant Chinese community organizations have listened to these lectures.
