Zidong District
Located at 200 Xianlin Avenue, Qixia District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine Zidong District is a collaborative project built by Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine , the Qixia District People’s Government, and the Xianlin University Town Management Committee. It was fully put into operation on February 22, 2022. The first phase of the Zidong District covers an area of approximately 68.25 acres, with a total construction area of about 150,000 square meters and a total of 800 beds.
In line with the integrated and standardized requirements of the main hospital, the Zidong District integrates national and provincial key specialties and focuses on building "One Hospital, Three Centers" in its first phase—advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis and treatment, integrative oncology, and multidisciplinary treatment centers for critical care and obstetrics/reproductive health.
The Zidong District offers outpatient and emergency services, inpatient wards, and medical examination facilities. All departments extend from those at the main hospital, with an additional obstetrics department. The inpatient areas prioritize high-quality medical disciplines from the main hospital, emphasizing compassionate care. An advanced intelligent information system has been established to ensure synchronized communication between the main hospital and the district.
By leveraging the strengths of the main hospital's high-quality TCM disciplines and specialized talent, the Zidong District aims to provide comprehensive, lifelong service to the community using a "large specialty, new comprehensive" development model, striving to become a benchmark for the TCM industry akin to the Mayo Clinic.
The second phase of the Zidong District's construction has been selected as a national project for heritage and innovation. It will focus on clinical practice, supported by research and talent development, and will include a research ward, biological resource information sample library, evidence-based TCM research base, multidisciplinary integration research platform, ancient literature excavation application information library, and talent training base. Once completed, Phase II will become a new highlight in the development of healthcare in Qixia District, Xianlin University Town, Nanjing, and Jiangsu Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan, fully committed to creating a highland for the inheritance and innovation of TCM that tightly integrates medicine, industry, education, research, and application.
